Independence Day

I frigging love America. And seeing as how it’s America’s birthday, it’s only right that I pay homage to the red, white and blue with this quick casual and polished look.

I’m a big fan of vests. It’s the easiest way to class up a boring button down shirt. The trick to not look like Aladdin is to always wear them with a collared shirt and dress shoes. Fashion rules state that vests make you look short & stubby, but if you can find a nice horseshoe vest like the one I’m wearing, it actually streamlines your silhouette really nicely.

Patterns have always been popular, but this particular one had these really nice deep blue elbow patches which is a great little twist on the boring blue button down. Details will make all the difference, folks.

Happy born day, ‘Murica!
